By creating an account or using Pathfilet in any manner, including as a guest, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the service.
2. Description of Service
Pathfilet is an AI-powered college and career coaching platform designed to help high school and college students explore extracurricular activities, discover career paths, find colleges, and receive personalized guidance. The service includes:
- AI-generated coaching and recommendations powered by Claude (Anthropic)
- Curated extracurricular activity guides and resources
- College search and filtering tools
- Career exploration quiz
- Student-to-student messaging features
3. User Accounts and Minors
You may use Pathfilet as a guest or by creating an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Providing accurate and truthful information in your profile
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
Students under 13 must provide parent/guardian consent before using Pathfilet. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent/guardian or school has approved your use of the service.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Pathfilet to:
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users
- Post false, misleading, or defamatory content in reviews or messages
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform or other users' data
- Use the service for commercial solicitation without our consent
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
Pathfilet uses artificial intelligence to generate personalized coaching recommendations, action plans, and activity suggestions.
AI-generated content is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute professional college counseling, career advice, or academic guidance. We make no guarantees about:
- College admission outcomes
- The accuracy of salary or career path information
- The availability or current status of specific programs or opportunities
College chance scores, fit labels, and recommendations are guidance only and are never a guarantee of admission. Always verify opportunities and deadlines through official sources.
6. User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of content you submit (reviews, comments, messages). By submitting content, you grant Pathfilet a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the service. You are solely responsible for content you post, and represent that it does not infringe any third-party rights.
7. Privacy, School Data, and Compliance
Your use of Pathfilet is also governed by our
Privacy Policy. We do not sell student data. We only collect and store data needed to deliver the service and improve safety/reliability. For school implementations where student records are stored, Pathfilet supports FERPA-aligned practices and offers Data Processing Agreement (DPA) terms for districts and institutions.
8. School Partner Terms
School and district partners may request school-specific terms, including response-time expectations, data handling requirements, and designated support contacts. For school agreements or DPA requests, contact

9. Third-Party Services
Pathfilet integrates with Anthropic's Claude API to power AI features. Your use of AI-powered features is also subject to Anthropic's usage policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services.
10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Pathfilet is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pathfilet and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to lost college admissions opportunities, career decisions made based on AI recommendations, or reliance on user-submitted reviews.
11. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Pathfilet after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time.
